# Troubleshooting

Find help for common known issues.

#### A friend viewed my profile but the views didn't increase

haunt.gg profile pages are **cached**, so view counts may not update immediately. Changing your **profile customization** clears the cache and displays an updated version of your profile right away; this does *not* apply to view counts.

    #### Backgrounds are not loading

Check whether you have **ad blockers** or **privacy extensions** enabled in your browser. They can sometimes prevent background images from loading. Try **disabling them**, **clearing your browser cache**, and refreshing the page.
A slow connection or a **large background image** can also delay loading.

    #### Animations are not working on profile pages

Make sure **hardware acceleration** is enabled in your browser settings. If you use Windows, also check that **Animation effects** are enabled in Windows Settings. *Older devices* may be unable to display animations correctly.

    #### My custom domain is not working

If you use **Namecheap** and your root domain is not working with the usual CNAME setup, use `@` in the **Name/Host** field instead of entering your full domain name. For example, configure `test.com` as follows:

- **Name/Host:** `@`
- **Value/Target:** `profile.haunt.gg`

DNS changes can take around **10 minutes** to apply. Wait, then try verifying your domain again.

    #### Instagram/X widgets are not working

Instagram widgets are available to **Premium users only**. If an Instagram widget does not return any data, Instagram may be *rate-limiting* our requests. Please **wait and try again later**.

The same can happen with X/Twitter widgets if the data service is **temporarily unavailable or outdated**. Our developers are automatically notified when an updated version of the X/Twitter data scraper is available.
