# Website Rules

The core rules for using haunt.gg, summarized from our Terms of Service.

> Follow these rules to keep haunt.gg safe, fair, and enjoyable for everyone. They are a plain-language summary of our Terms of Service.

## 2026-07-15

This summary was last updated on July 15, 2026. It reflects our Terms of Service as of May 10, 2026. Please check back here for any future updates or changes.

> [!WARNING]
> Not reading these rules or choosing to ignore them does not protect you from punishment.

> [!NOTE]
> This page is a friendly summary, not a replacement for the legal text. The full [Terms of Service](https://haunt.gg/terms) and [Privacy Policy](https://haunt.gg/privacy) always take priority if anything conflicts.

## 1. Only Post What You Own
Everything on your page — text, images, links, badges, anything else — is your responsibility. Only publish content you actually own or have permission to use. Don't post anything that infringes someone else's **intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights**.

## 2. Keep Content Legal and Appropriate
Do not post, host, or link to anything that breaks local, national, or international law, or that helps someone else break it.

**Sexually explicit material, any sexualization of minors, non-consensual imagery, and content that glorifies real-world violence, terrorism, self-harm, or exploitation are strictly prohibited.** The same goes for defamatory, hateful, harassing, or otherwise objectionable content.

## 3. No Scams, Phishing, or Impersonation
Scams, phishing pages, spam, and campaigns designed to mislead people or collect their information without consent are not allowed.

Do not impersonate another person, a brand, or **haunt.gg staff**, and do not imply we've endorsed, sponsored, or partnered with you when we haven't.

## 4. Don't Attack or Overload the Platform
Don't distribute anything built to harm the people who open your page — malware, spyware, or files that hijack, damage, or secretly run on a visitor's device — and don't use haunt.gg to launch or coordinate attacks against other systems. Don't try to bypass our security, rate limits, or access controls, or go looking for vulnerabilities to poke at.

Never attempt to access other users' accounts, private data, or any part of the Service that isn't meant for you.

## 5. No Bots or Scraping
Don't run bots, scrapers, crawlers, or any other automated tooling against the Service unless we've given you written permission first.

## 6. Choose an Honest Username
Pick a username that's legal, honest, and doesn't step on anyone's rights. Anything misleading, offensive, infringing, or made to look like an official haunt.gg account can be reclaimed, renamed, or suspended.

## 7. One Account, One Person
Your account is yours alone. Don't share your credentials, hand out logins, or resell access — everything that happens under your account is attributed to you.

Coordinated abuse, account resale, **ban evasion**, and payment-method recycling usually trigger action across every account and payment method we can tie to the same activity.

## 8. Image Hosting Is for Profiles Only
Image hosting is built for profile visuals — avatars, social content, and the images on your page. It is **not** a general-purpose CDN, an origin server, a media backend, or a bot's storage layer. Don't bulk-upload, mass-hotlink, or push traffic that sticks the rest of the platform with the bill.

## 9. Keep Custom Badges Original
Custom badges must be your own original work — no cloning or near-copies of haunt.gg's official badges or system marks. Badges follow the same content and IP rules as everything else, and abusing the badge system can cost you customization access.

## 10. Your Links Are Your Responsibility
You're free to add third-party links to your page as long as they're legal and you're not implying an endorsement or partnership that doesn't exist. What sits behind an outside link is between the visitor and that site — we don't police where your links lead. The exception is links that are outright unlawful or built to deceive the people who click them, and those we can remove.

## 11. Respect Privacy and Security
Keep your password and login methods to yourself. Do not share other people's private information, and don't attempt to expose or exploit anyone's data. If you spot anything suspicious — an unfamiliar session, a login you didn't make — email us at **support@haunt.gg** as soon as you can.

## 12. Staff Decisions and Enforcement
When something breaks these rules, raises a security or legal concern, or hurts the community, we can warn, restrict, take down, or terminate the account, page, or content involved. Sometimes we'll warn you first, sometimes we won't — it depends on the situation. Where the law requires it, we may also report what we see and cooperate with valid investigations.

## 13. Common Sense Applies
Not every harmful behavior can be listed here. If you're clearly trying to disrupt the Service, mislead others, bypass rules, or exploit loopholes, we may still take action.

## Billing and Payments
### 1. Payments Are Final
Unless the law says otherwise, payments to haunt.gg are final. We don't refund for change of mind, services you didn't end up using, or partial use of a plan. If we made a billing mistake — wrong amount, wrong product, a charge that shouldn't have happened — email **support@haunt.gg** and we'll take a look.

### 2. Keep Your Billing Details Accurate
When you buy something, the account and payment details you give us must be complete, accurate, and current. Keep your email, payment method, and card expiry up to date so transactions go through and we can reach you when needed.

### 3. Don't File Invalid Chargebacks
Filing a chargeback or payment dispute against a charge that's actually valid breaks these rules. Where that happens, we can suspend or restrict the account and pull access to anything you bought until the dispute is resolved.
